Who is “I am My own Island.”

Welcome! Grab a chair, a drink, and snuggle up in a warm blanket. My name is Angela.Β I am trying to improve my life and accept my mental health issues. I share those experiences, family life, social commentary/rants as well as personal ones. I know this blog won’t be for everyone but I hope for the ones it is… we can feel like family. So like I said grab a chair, drink, and blanket and enjoy the friendship!

Also every year I pick a word of the year this year I did not. Instead I choose things I want to learn. Check out my post about it Here

I can be reached at Iammyownisland@gmail.com

  1. Hey Angela, mental health issues are a major concern these says and blogging has allowed me to connect with peers and share experiences. But I find that like every profession there are those who take the time and exercise due diligence in their diagnosis and there are those who don’t. Unfortunately for those wrongly diagnosed and wrongly medicated the unnecessary suffering continues. I look forward to reading your posts. cheers, Glenn

  2. You probably think I just sit around and stalk your blog all day, haha. But I actually just feel a strong connection with you. So you’ll probably be hearing lots from me… sorry in advance.

  3. Hey Angela, I love your blog I’ve been popping in an out of it since yesterday I think. I’m new to blogging but getting massively addicted. I don’t know many people who like Blue October so its nice to meet you(so to speak)

  5. I have nominated you [http://elusivetrope.com/2015/11/20/3d-3q-day-2/] for the 3 Days 3 Quotes Challenge.I want to say I don’t want you to feel obligated to participated. I just want people to experience and photographs I feel are inspiring and grounding.

  6. Hi Angela,
I just discovered this About page… I just wanted to tell you that I think your pictorial quotes are particularly helpful reminders for anyone suffering from anxiety / depression. Through the struggles that my wife experiences, I am beginning to realize that my long posts are less ‘digestible’ than most of your insights!
    Cheers

  7. This is the first time I did this – Followed a blog without going through its About page and any post. But you can’t blame me for that. How could I leave the opportunity of becoming your 1000 follower. :p πŸ˜€
The moment I saw 999 followers, I clicked on follow. It was tempting.
But now I will go through your posts. πŸ™‚
