When to listen

I have a buying problem. I currently want something a little pricey. It’s a new planner. I dont need it and frankly I’m not the best at keeping up with them other than work. I always have good intentions but really i just collect them. I am sitting at the check out for my latest want and know i shouldn’t press finalize sale. Thankfully I’ve come here to write about it as i now feel the anxiety of buying it subsiding. Just because i want it doesn’t mean it’s not a waste of money. I’m going to close out of it and step away from the site. Today in this moment i have won the battle sadly probably not the war but one battle at a time right? Eventually you win the war i am hoping.

  1. This is a huge step! When we recognize problem behaviors, own them, and find the strength to walk away,it is just such a sign of growth. Good for you!

  2. I had a handbag in my eBay basket for a few months and eventually let myself buy it the other day. Now it’s arrived, I don’t like it. Sometimes the idea of buying something is nicer than actually having the item.

  3. Good job! You don’t need it – use the money to do something better for yourself. Sounds like me with doordash – get all the way to checkout then say, “this is insane to waste this much on a stupid meal,” then cancel.

  4. It takes time to win the battle.. I love to buy books, sewing material (just 1/2 yard at a time) and embroidery floss (just one skein at a time)… I don’t need any of those as I’m in the middle of reading 6 books and have loads of material and floss.. but more would be fun.. ugh πŸ™ƒ
