I got the other job but i went to put in my two weeks notice and my boss asked me to reconsider. She says i do a great job and should stick it out. Frankly i don’t know if i can afford the pay cut at the other place. I told her I’d think about it today. I need a guiding voice to tell me what to do. I’ve prayed on it and frankly i don’t know the answer. I’m afraid i won’t be happy anywhere.
I consider that one of life’s terrible compromises. Very few people have the option to have a “job” that doesn’t feel like “work”. We’re forced to choose between jobs based on whichever has the most tolerable unhappiness.
it’s hard to say, but I will say I know financial stress is never fun! so if the pay cut will
cause more stress, it is something to think about
Well… your boss said you do a good job, despite what you have been thinking all along. If you can’t afford the pay cut, stay where you are. 🙂 What about the new job makes you feel it would be a better fit? Make a pros and cons list.
Your mental state improving is the primary objective. So do the pro and con list. Do not stay in a job you have felt insecure in for months now just to appease the boss. Hope you find some clarity,my friend.
We go to work for the money ~ a pay cut sounds like a backwards step.
I agree
You are so strong. This must be so confusing and frustrating right now. I have a feeling it’s all going to work out eventually.
Go read some of your former blogs talking about your work. Don’t be swayed by somebody whose goal is employee retention. If you’re that valuable, ask for more money and a better situation.
Whole heartedly agree with Joshua. Re-read what you’ve written about your present job.
