I am the face of mental illness

Posted on

I decided to do some self care today and delve into some free samples of make up I got a few weeks back. Here are the results.

These eyes hide the pain and torment I often feel from the outside world.

This smile hides years of self doubt and fear.

Yet I still move forward. I take two steps forward one back but I’m moving forward.

I am the face of mental illness. Specifically… Bipolar, borderline personality disorder, and binge eating. Thank you for following my journey.

I see the sadness in your eyes. You may be smiling but you are in pain.
    Sending hugs.

We think we hide it and we may hide it from some but not from others who are also sad. 😥

I get what you mean when you say you’re the face of mental illness but I think you’re actually the face of much more: a wonderful mother, a strong survivor, a complex, beautiful, valuable (and valued) woman. Mental illness can’t compare with those (though I know most of the time it feels like it overshadows all of that). Anyway I just had to say it! Xx

I also struggle with binge eating disorder. I also struggle with anxiety and depression. It is hard but it is possible to find happiness, it just takes time. Sending positive vibes your way!
