I wonder today if I’ll regret getting divorced. If he’ll be right about all the negatives he said. Then I remembered how unsupportive and uninterested he was in me and realize it’s more than his words. I still have this fear that he’ll be right but the rational me knows he won’t be.

What’s helped me is writing down all the reasons why I shouldn’t be with him and the things I discovered a needed in a life long partner because of it. Any feeling of regret or hesitation snaps shut.

Of course he isn’t right he knows it, it is just his way to try and get in your mind and mess with you make you second guess yourself and to try and keep control over you get you to stay even. You have met a new friend your talking to and getting to know and I bet you don’t feel guilty about it at all. When I split up with ex I knew I was doing the right thing but wondered if just maybe. But once I started seeing someone else I knew it was done I truly was done I didn’t feel guilty for talking to anyone else, or going out nothing. I felt good I felt like life was like it should be. If we had been together and things had been good and I still cared I would have felt so guilty for even talking to someone else or going out. Even though the divorce wasn’t done deep down I knew it was over and we were just waiting on a piece of paper. What really mattered was how I felt and what I knew.
