F anxiety

Posted on

My anxiety is through the roof. I can’t concentrate at all. I want to take my klonopine but I only have two left. What if I need them for a worse attack? I see my therapist today but it’ll be the last session as I am moving to an office further away and can’t make the trips. Plus I feel I don’t get much out of them I need someone tougher. Just when I think some symptom is the worst another rears it’s head and it feels like the worst.

Can you get more Klonopine from your therapist? If so why don’t you take one sweetie. I hope with your move you can get a therapist that will help you more. I hope you feel better soon. Love and hugs!

I think it [anxiety] is in the air. I know a lot of people, myself included, that are really having to wrestle with anxiety as of late.

before taking the klonopin, can you try other techniques now, before you reach your threshold? intense exercise, putting your face in cold water, taking a step back and just observing, doing self-soothing things like smelling something nice, getting a pedicure, whatever you can do that makes you feel in control or that you enjoy. Sometimes just slowing time down. Stopping and forcing yourself to sit and breathe. I like to count my breathes. Like, I have to take 6 breathes before I can move or do anything else. Focusing on the numbers helps me. DBT offers a lot of “distress tolerance” skills you can look up on the computer – when I can’t use medication or don’t want to, I try to use some of those techniques to pull myself back before I go into a full-fledged attack. Just something to consider.
