Following along

Today on my ambivalent existence wrote about a day without thinking about the diagnosis. Today I do not have bipolar, borderline personality disorder, or binge eating as my label. I am me…flaws and all. I make choices based on life experiences not because of mental illness. I am strong. I got this!

Flaws are beauty marks. Character is impossible without them. 😆

I have been diagnosed with bipolar, then borderline, and then back to bipolar. Diagnoses have helped me understand what’s going on but multiple opinions has always helped me comprehend. I was diagnosed with borderline by a doctor in the hospital and when I saw my therapist she scoffed at the idea. Further, when I returned to my normal psychiatrist she scoffed at the idea too. So, I think there’s value in diagnoses but opinions from trusted medical professionals are the ones to be valued.
