Facts about me

I have several new followers and I send out live to each and every one of you. I thought I’d share some facts about me. Some people already know but if your new maybe not πŸ™‚

I’m an only child and my parents are still married.

I have three boys 15 13 and 9.

I’m married and it’s often a struggle especially loving someone with a mental illness.

I’m a Libra through and through.

I have been diagnosed with bipolar, borderline personality disorder, and binge eating disorder.

The best year of my life was 1997.

I’ve never been arrested.

I do like to drink even though I shouldn’t.

I vape another bad habit.

I had gastric bypass surgery and almost died. I lost about two hundred pounds and shamefully gained a hundred back.

I’m a social worker which can be an emotionally hard field to be in with mental illness.

Hmmm… That’s probably enough for today. Hope everyone is doing awesome. Much love… Angela πŸ™‚

Hi Angela! I tried to find your comment so I could respond but couldn’t. I hope what I said in my blog didn’t offend you because I meant no harm. You are rightfully entitled to feel how you feel about your diagnosis. I felt as though my post was getting too lengthy so I didn’t even finish my main thought!

That feeling you have of being broken, I relate all too well. However, that feeling hit me years and years ago when I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism. I literally cried when I found out I’d be required to take a damn pill everyday for the rest of my life. As life progressed, my medical history did too. I think what changed my perspective on a lot of things was my epilepsy diagnosis. The more I researched Epilepsy and educated myself, the less frightening it seemed to be. I’m sure I’ve been bipolar since an early teen but it says a lot that it took ALL these years to finally get an official diagnosis at the age of 35.

I think it’s all about perspective AND educating yourself to the best of your ability about your symptoms. Once you get a sense of what to expect, what’s included and possibly where it derives from… it makes it easier to make a plan on how to maintain or attack!

After reading your “about me” section, I realize we have a lot more in common than just mental illness! If you ever wanna talk, please don’t hesitate to hit me up!!

I wasn’t offended at all. I too noticed we have a lot in common. That’s why I love this community.
